Are Mini Sessions For Me?

What are mini sessions?
Well everyone's are different and while many don't even offer them, I DO! Mine are short, fun, interactive sessions that allow you to get a taster of my full sessions. These 25 minute photoshoots, allow you to get some gorgeous photos of you and your family without your little ones getting too bored and running out of steam.
Not every child is used to having a camera on them, and funnily enough many of them stop smiling or freeze because they see the camera, much like an adult. This is why my natural photography is an advantage. For these mini sessions, it provides little ones with time to become comfortable with the camera on them. It allows them to experience a photoshoot first hand without the added pressure of a full session.

These photoshoots are cheaper and shorter, so with little ones you cant go wrong as you get the same quality images as a full session. If you are hoping to get a good few images out of the session, because you know your children aren't as cooperative as you would like ( this is completely normal, they just want to have fun!) then these could work perfectly for you. If you have multiple poses and photos in mind, then these are not going to meet your needs and so a full session would work better for you.
As a nanny I've picked up many tricks in how to engage with your children and make them smile and laugh. This is helpful in all photoshoots but especially mini's as they are so fast pace. However, there is always going to be children who do not want to cooperate and want to do their own thing. Again, this is completely fine with me, but will restrict the number of planned photos we can actually get. So if you think your child will do better with longer to settle, this wouldn't be the best session for you to book. But that doesn't mean you can't try. I promise to give you my all, to get as many photos as possible.

Minis are perfect for all ages, even adults can find that a full session is not suited to their needs. So these shorter shoots can be perfect if you need just a few headshots or even a maternity bump photoshoot. Mini bump photoshoots are great, as it means you don't have to push yourself too much while still capturing those last precious moments with your belly. However, mini's do restrict you on outfit changes and different backdrops. If you are looking for a more detailed and versatile session, a full session is better for you.
Themed mini's are so much fun and this is exactly why I do them once a month. Having photoshoots for special occasions (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas) can make the memories even more special. You get all the excitement of these occasions without your children getting bored of it. Props are always available for these mini sessions, but I am always open for you to bring some of your own too. Dressing up is never boring, no matter what age you are, so make sure you make the most of these themes by getting yourself involved as well as the children.

If you are now sure that a mini session is for you, enquire right away, don't wait! If you are still unsure on what session will fit you and the direction you want your photoshoot to go, please message me and we can discuss this together. I am also available to answer any questions you have.
I hope this blog helped you decide if mini sessions are right for you!
